Service Description

In this 6-week class, you'll learn the basics of sewing while making beginner-friendly fun projects. There are two levels in the foundation class. This is level 1. Level 1 is for complete beginners who have not used a sewing machine before, or have not fully mastered its use. We are starting from scratch and will be making a few projects before the class ends. Topics include but are not limited to: - Understanding the sewing machine - Stitches and seams - Sewing on straight lines, curves, and angles - Seam allowances - Hand stitching - Patch pockets - Ruffles Projects: - A knotted headband - A pillowcase - An apron with frills Fee covers training and use of our sewing machines in the class. The fee does not include fabrics and notions needed for projects. A personal sewing kit is required for this course. See below for the list. Feel free to bring yours from home or get the kit at the studio for only $60. SEWING TOOLS 1. A large carrying case (to hold the tools) 2. Some pieces of calico/muslin fabric (for trials) 3. Fabric scissors 4. Extra pair of scissors (for paper and other materials) 5. Seam ripper 6. Nipper/ thread snipper 7. Fabric pen or tailor's chalk 8. Dressmaker pins (100pcs/box available at the studio) 9. Pin cushion 10. Some spools of thread 11. Hand needles 12. Measuring tape 13. Tracing wheel 14. Some bobbins (at least 5) 15. Pencil (for drafting patterns) 16. Eraser (for drafting patterns) 17.Straight Ruler (for drafting patterns) 18.Large plain paper for drafting patterns 19.Pattern master/curved ruler. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy: Payment validates booking. Your spot is reserved immediately after payment is made. No refunds are offered for sewing classes/camps/workshops. Cancellation received at least two weeks before class gives us the time to transfer your fees to another time slot. Cancellations received less than two weeks before class starts, (or no-shows) may result in forfeiture of fees paid if there are no available spaces for makeup classes. If for reasons beyond our control, we need to cancel a class, we will issue a refund in the manner in which you paid or you can transfer your payment to a future session of your choice. Classes are subject to change or cancellation based on low attendance.
